Outdoor Mud Kids Kitchen Playset Wooden Pretend Play Toy with Kitchenware

My kids love this kitchen! It\'s well done and the quality of the wood is better than we thought. Very sturdy, with lots of great accessories, it comes with a mud kitchen cookbook for kids to make natural recipes and cooking utensils. The kids love it! All the cutlery, everything is fine. I highly recommend it.

I think this kitchen is so cute! I was able to put it together in the hour before my kids got home and everything was extremely straight forward. I made some adjustments of my own because I wanted to use this in my sons room rather than outside so I kept the door off of it so that I could use storage bins there instead. I also forgot to put on a piece but you really can’t tell the difference and my kids definitely couldn’t tell the difference! If I do decide to put this outside I’ve already decided to fix it to the fence using l brackets for stability! I think it’ll do just fine for now in my sons room until it cools down a bit outside. Prior to taking it outside I’ll be sure to seal the wood just for that extra protection from the elements!

Ok where to begin… I researched mud kitchens for weeks before selecting this one. In a perfect world I would have built a super sturdy one or gotten one from Etsy but the $500 price tag ain’t it - so I settled on this one with some modifications. Once I got the mud kitchen I unboxed everything and there were 2 broken pieces. I reached out to the company and they were willing to send me replacement parts (responded quickly) if I sent photos of the damage but I knew this would take time so we were able to fix the pieces with nail gun, wood glue, etc. To me the broken parts in the box make this difficult to recommend as a gift to someone because if they didn’t have the Amazon account I think it would be hard to get the replacement parts. Next, this is advertised as an outdoor mud kitchen but none of the wood (besides maybe the black pieces) had been treated at all. I poured water on a few to test and it did not repel. A couple months outside in an Indiana summer would have killed this, so I marched my happy behind over to Lowe’s and got a nice neutral stain and treated it all. I forgot to do the handle and attached a photo of that here so you could see the difference between treated and non-treated wood. I also painted black stain over the mud kitchen text because I thought that part looked goofy. That’s just me though! All in all, I probably wouldn’t buy this same one again because of the extra work I had to do repairing and staining it … but that being said my kids absolutely love it so that’s really all that matters. Also the price tag was budget friendly so if you’re looking for a 2-3 year toy, I think that’s the lifespan on something like this (with the stain addition!)

This wooden kitchen is very interesting, it is beautifully made, but also full of functions, the price is very good. My daughter is having fun.
